Glittered Napkin Card

In tomorrow’s class we’ll be doing the glittered napkin technique with Stampin’ Up’s Iridescent Ice. And I am finally enough ahead of the game that I have a sample to share with you.

You know those beautiful napkins you see in Bed, Bath & Beyond and some stationery stores? Well, they can make beautiful cards. These are easy cards to do and they don’t need a lot of embellishment because the added glitter makes them so stunning. All you have to do is pick out a background color that coordinates, and with 50+ colors from Stampin’ Up, you can usually find what you need.

I’ve seen cards on Pinterest that use an adhesive and regular glitter, but I think in a lot of cases, that overpowers the card. The Iridescent Ice is an embossing powder. It melts into the napkin and gives a subtle glimmer. Everyone coming to class will get their own jar of Iridescent Ice to take home and make many more beautiful cards.

Tomorrow we’ll be making a floral card and this beach card:

I’ve got some napkins my husband picked up from the grocery store that have palm trees on them that I think I’ll try next. And watch around Christmas time because you can usually find gorgeous napkins that would make over-the-top Christmas cards. Give this technique a try – I’m sure you’ll love the results.
