Catalog Premiere Party!

One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator is getting an early look at the new catalogs before they go live. We also get to pre-order from a select list of items. I tell you, catalog pre-order time is like Christmas! The annual catalog comes out in June and the pre-order period starts today. I put my order in bright and early.  🙂

This year to introduce the catalog, Stampin’ Up did something different. They had a premiere launch party in Long Beach, California, complete with a red carpet and stamping celebrities. And they simulcast it to 39 other locations across the US, including Orlando – and I was there! It was so exciting – they really know how to put on a show! We got to see several demonstrations of new products, including two I’m really excited about – Blendabilities and Project Life. At the end, we all got a copy of the catalog and a brand-new stamp set!

Like any other Stampin’ Up event, there was plenty of swapping. Anyone who wants to swap creates full cards or card fronts to trade with others. It’s a great way to get samples of stamp sets you don’t currently own and see all kinds of great ideas for layouts and techniques. I was able to make a few swaps using the Summer Silhouettes stamp set in a color combination I love – Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, and Pear Pizzazz.  I even stamped some business cards to match.
