I have been seeing the sunburst cards all over Splitcoaststampers lately. I’ve also seen some pretty complicated instructions for making them, but it turns out it’s really quite easy and great for using up some of your beloved designer paper scraps.
This card uses 4 pieces of paper from the Sweater Weather designer series paper, each 4 inches by 1.5 inches and cut diagonally. I alternated the pieces and then glued them to a separate piece of cardstock that was 5 x 2.75. It doesn’t matter what you use for this piece as it doesn’t show. The designer papers will go over the edges of your cardstock, but that’s ok. When everything’s glued down, you will flip it over and trim off the excess. Dawn Olchefske has a great video showing how to do this.
The stamps I used are Magnificent Maple and Tags 4 You, along with the Label Bracket punch. The little “strings” behind the tag are frayed burlap ribbon. It just needed something there, but anything else would have been overpowering. I love this effect!
This might just be my Thanksgiving card this year. What do you think?
